BIOMECHANICS AND SPORT PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS

The Biomechanics and Sport Performance Analysis Department offers the possibility of assessing objectively the athlete’s performance from a general perspective using different devices, technology and protocols in order to help improving the athlete’s performance. Those assessments are not fixed or closed protocols at all. Instead of that, department staff and coaches define together procedure needs. Based on that, individualized protocols are developed and all devices, equipment and technology necessary are entirely at athlete’s disposal.

Biomechanics Department offers the athlete’s performance assessment comprising two relevant areas:

PHYSICAL CAPACITIES ASSESSMENT AND SPORT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

On one hand, each area has standardized protocols for assessing athletes in short-, mid- and long-term periods. On the other hand, results processing is made with databases which allow us to compare groups and athletes so that performance criteria, really useful for athlete’s assessment, can be defined.

Below are the most demanded protocols from our department:

  • Strength monitoring, evaluation and training.

  • Coordination capacities evaluation with video and photocells.

  • Speed evaluation with 1/1000s photocells.

  • Starts and Turns specific training with electronic timing system.

  • Videographic reports.

  • Technical display during training sessions.

  • Technical quality analysis.

  • Cinematic analysis.

  • Starts and turns cinematic analysis with force platform.

  • Monitored training sessions.

  • Speed and stroke power assessment while swimming.
